Activity Option 3:

Guided Trail Ride at Many Glacier

Many Glacier is the most remote - and also most striking - area of Glacier National Park,
known for its hidden lakes and dynamic mountains.

Your day with this option:

You will depart H+G Mountain Lodge at 9:30am, stopping for coffee and a quick breakfast at one of our favorite spots along the way.

It is a 2.5 hour drive from Whitefish to Many Glacier, most of which is spent traversing Going To The Sun Road, the main tourist road through the park. While there won’t be time for stops on the way there, the beauty of the drive will make it fly by.

You will arrive at Many Glacier Hotel at approximately 1pm, and will spend some free time taking photos and enjoying the views before check-in for the ride.

At 2pm, you’ll check in at Many Glacier Corral, review a safety demonstration, and be matched with a horse.

The trail ride will last approximately 2.5 hours, and will wind through forests and up hills to views of Lake Josephine, one of the hidden lakes in the Many Glacier Valley.

This trail ride completely beginner-friendly. If you do have riding experience, note this is a pretty nose-to-tail ride (with some leeway on this since this will be a private group). The ride we’ve chosen is a fairly technical ride with less opportunities for trotting / catering.

Ride will conclude by 5pm, at which point there will be some extra time to grab food at Many Glacier Hotel and explore the Many Glacier Area before heading back to the lodge.

You will return to H+G Mountain Lodge at approximately 9:30pm.

$160 includes the trail ride, your park entrance fee, and gas costs for the longer drive.

PLEASE NOTE:

We have already booked this out as a private ride, however there are only 10 horses at the Many Glacier Corral. Therefore, while other activities have unlimited attendance capacity, this activity is limited to the first 10 people who sign up. We anticipate that this will adequately meet demand, but if you are set on this activity, please let us know ASAP so we can be sure there is a horse for you.

If there is significant overflow in sign-ups for visiting the Many Glacier area, we will work out a second / overflow activity in this part of the park for the same price point.

PLEASE NOTE:

The horses at Many Glacier Corral have a weight limit of 225lbs.
